The King Kooker rib and potato baker is made from polished chrome and measures approximately 12.5” x 9” x 4”. The item has space for six ribs and also has seven spikes for potatoes, etc.

Something of a strange fish, this potato baker rib rack thing. I presume it’s designed for a small family with a small grill, so they can cook all the food at once. In practice, there just isn’t enough space on it to cook that much food at the same time. If you cram as much food on as will fit it won’t cook properly, and if you space it out so it does cook, there’s no real point in using it. Added to that, as all you chefs will have realised, the grilling times for such diverse items are all different, so you can’t just throw it on the grill and forget about it. And the last thing anyone needs is raw meat touching cooked vegetables.

It does work as a rib rack, provided you don’t load the spikes with anything, and it does work as a potato grilling rack, although no different to any other, or indeed none at all. Leaving room to use the spikes means the ribs just fall through the rack as there’s nothing underneath. This item is neither one thing nor another. Being chrome, the baked potato holder at least cleans up easily, and you can use it on most grills or in the oven.

What I really don’t like about this potato roasting rack is the way it’s presented in the pictures. Some, or possibly all, of the food shown on it has been photoshopped in, particularly the strangely flattened rib at the back. If this is the case, then that’s misleading at best, dishonest at worst. For that reason, I recommend this potato rack with reservations.
